Eva Fishes

Eva and I joined a toddler hiking class.  Eva can walk a pretty far distance.  She is also completely fascinated with nature.  Here she is fishing with a stick, string, and a gummy worm.  She was not successful.

I Love Snow!

So, as promised, we took Eva out into the snow.  We bought her a snow bib, and have jackets, hats and mittens, but the one thing we are missing are a pair of snow boots.  So I came up with the bright idea to put plastic bags around her robeez.  We took her on the sled.  She was apprehensive.  When we got back after playing on the sled she decided to go for a walk.  It was slippery, but she loved it.  Or perhaps because it was slippery she loved it.

First Halloween!

Eva celebrated her first Halloween today.    This year she was an adorable butterfly.  We went to several baby/toddler/kid Halloween events and she had a great time walking around and being adored by everyone.  She definitely doesn’t get Halloween yet, but in a few years, I am pretty sure she is going to love it.

I love these little padded butt baby costumes!

The costume was a little small so when the head was buttoned it squashed her cheeks.

Video to follow (hopefully).

Eva Walks!

Okay.  This post is a long time coming.  Eva has started walking!  It is so cute to see someone so tiny on the move.  She is pretty much over crawling.  She can even get to standing from sitting on the floor with no assistance.  Officially, she started taking one and two steps a little after 10 months and was fully walking at 10.5 months (thanks to some help from her cousins Cora and Lane).  Eva’s Dad thinks she walks like a zombie, or a tightrope walker, or Frankenstein.  Earlier this week she and I walked four blocks hand and hand.  It took about an hour.

Dancing Machine

Eva has a very unique little dance. She likes to wiggle her rear end to the music. She also sings along. It is so adorable! I know the video is dark but I hope you are able to see it because it is pretty much the most hilarious thing I have ever posted. Better than the sniff.

Eva Steps!

Eva keeps growing by leaps and bounds every day. She takes small steps when you hold onto her arms, and she can stand on her own for short periods of time. I need to watch Eva all the time because her favorite thing in the world to do is to pull up. On everything.

Eva’s Dad and I are convinced she has said her first words. We both have heard her say ball. Eva’s Dad has heard her say water.

On The Move!

Life in our house has officially changed. Eva is crawling. It is so fun to watch her improve her crawling skills every day! First it was a few steps, then it was a few more steps with much coaxing. Now she is exploring. She is checking out everything. She is not very fast yet, but I know that is soon to come. She is also pulling up a lot more now. And on everything. She even takes a few wobbily steps (while holding onto hands of course). I love this new development!
