Day Out!

I took the day off last Thursday and Eva and I went to the Legion of Honor Museum.  Since we are members, I thought we should probably check it out.  The current exhibition is called “Artistic Luxury: Fabergé, Tiffany, Lalique.”  Basically, a bunch of sparkly stuff made prior to The Great War.  Eva especially liked the Tiffany brooches and Fabergé eggs and vases.  However, after about 15 minutes the sparkliness was just too overwhelming for both dad and tot.  We retreated, screaming and overwhelmed to the permanent exhibits.  This was more our thing, with no one around, the museum was ours!

This deer was Eva’s favorite piece in the entire museum.  Seriously, she looked at this forever.  I was even ordered to lift her up for a closer inspection!

Here is Dad, Eva and abovementioned Deer.

Eva and what was billed as a typical room from the time of Louis XV.

What Eva really enjoyed was running around the giant courtyard.  The courtyard was great, complete with The Thinker by Rodin (how Rodin had the time to make so many of these I will never understand) and a mini Louvre style glass pyramid.

Follow the Green Marble Road!

We finished off the day by watching the bison in the rain.  When Eva saw the bison, she mooed and then laughed hysterically.

Applesauced!

Since Eva’s Dad ate all the chocolate ice cream we decided to give Eva applesauce instead. Eva cannot really hate all fruits, right?

Wrong!!

1/2 Year = 6 Months = 183 Days = 4,392 Hours = 263,520 Minutes = 15,811,200 Seconds!

Eva just had her half-birthday! She has now been alive for over 15 million seconds! To mark this special day, we took Eva to the doctor. As of her 183rd day, she weighs 15 pounds, 11 ounces; is 25 inches tall/long; has a head circumference of 16.5 inches. She keeps growing so fast, except that height thing; she was 25.25 inches just a week earlier. I don’t know what to make of that, maybe all the jumping in her jumper is also compacting her. Really, I think her knees were bent a little while getting measured.

Eva also knows her name! Yes, it’s true. As of her 4,392nd hour, she looks and smiles at whoever says her name. Eva is also moving around, incessantly. She is not crawling, but she is definitely moving all over the place. She kind of just pulls herself up on things and then flings herself where she wants to go. It is very cute and entertaining; she laughs the whole time.

Sometime not far past minute number 263,520, and after a large amount of wasted bananas and avocados, we have concluded that Eva does not like her fruits. Tomorrow … chocolate ice cream.

Dads Can Blog Too!

I am not nearly as good a writer as Eva’s Mama, but I’ll give it a try anyway.

However, I am great at posting cute pictures!
