Clap Happy!

Eva has started clapping! I didn’t even teach her, she just started doing it. When she first started clapping, she was clapping in her sleep. It was very cute, but not conducive to keeping her asleep.

On The Move!

Life in our house has officially changed. Eva is crawling. It is so fun to watch her improve her crawling skills every day! First it was a few steps, then it was a few more steps with much coaxing. Now she is exploring. She is checking out everything. She is not very fast yet, but I know that is soon to come. She is also pulling up a lot more now. And on everything. She even takes a few wobbily steps (while holding onto hands of course). I love this new development!

Sniff 2

See, I can make her do things. Here are two cute videos of Eva sniffing.

Make Up Your Mind Mom!

Eva doesn’t really stick things in her mouth. Well she does, sometimes, but she is definitely not one of those babies whose first step when getting an object is to shove it into their mouth. Part of me is concerned, mouthing objects is an important step in sensory exploration, but part of me is thrilled. I don’t have to worry about Eva finding yucky or dangerous things and sticking them in her mouth. The other day I was complaining to Eva’s Dad about this, and, while I was in the grocery store, lo and behold, he videotaped Eva putting an object (a forbidden object) in her mouth.

Swinging Away the Day

Recently, we decided to put Eva in a bucket swing. I think of her as so big, but she is actually still really tiny. Seeing her in a swing really reinforces that fact. She likes swinging. But she really likes watching the other kids play.

Attempted Jail Break!

I am convinced that babies make all of their big physical breakthroughs in their crib. We should leave Eva alone in her crib more often.

You will be happy to know that 1, Eva was fine, and 2, we lowered the crib last night.
